Synopsis: Hello Princess!

The Princess Party Planners are here to make your day magical - nothing less will do. 

But behind the glitter, one performer starts to realise the fairytale she’s selling isn’t so magical for her. 

As her job intensifies, feelings become harder to ignore, and cracks in the fairytale start to show. 

Can she take off the princess mask and face the story she’s been avoiding? 

A funny and heartfelt dive into the messy magic of becoming yourself. Expect laughter, discomfort and a tear or two - but no guarantees of happily ever after. 

Q&A with Lydia Baggaley (Writer)

Q: What inspired you to create this show?

A:  I was largely inspired by the actual part time job I have as a character performer. The act of performance itself intrigued me, as it reminded me of the performance many women and queer people enact everyday.

Q: What can audiences expect when they come to see the show at Edinburgh Fringe?

A: They can expect cringe, camp and...a bit of choreography. There may be some techno involved...3 words to describe it: Flamboyant, heartfelt, hopeful

Q: What makes this show unique or different from other shows at the Fringe?

A: The blend of themes that normally wouldn't go together really makes this show stand out. We're bringing innocence mixed with serious emotions, putting queer girlhood at the front and centre! The main thing I want audiences to take away is that it's okay to be messy, and that everyone is worthy of love despite that.

Q: What has been the most exciting part of bringing this production to Edinburgh Fringe?

A: Seeing the cast bring the characters to life! As a writer, I've always found it so beautiful giving someone the thing that's lived in your head for months and seeing what they make of it.

Q: Why should audiences add your show to their Fringe schedule this year?

A: Audiences should definitely have us in their schedule if they want to see an innovative and fresh twist on familiar characters that will make them giggle...and if they don't they should add us anyway!
