📍 Bord Gáis Energy Theatre

🗓️ 31st July 2025

The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has been a big part of my life over the years – I’ve seen so many incredible touring productions there – but this trip felt a little different. Little Shop of Horrors was their very first in-house production, and I knew there was no way I could miss such a big moment for Irish theatre. With a full Irish cast and in partnership with Theatreworx, it had such an exciting energy from the start.

The set was fabulous — Skid Row switching seamlessly into Mushnik’s Flower Shop and back again — really setting the scene perfectly and transporting you into the story.

The cast brought lots of energy, strong vocals, and tight choreography throughout. Jacqueline Brunton embodied Audrey, bringing her sweetness and vulnerability, while David O’Reilly delivered all the awkward charm of Seymour. They had great chemistry together.

I was really curious how they would pull off Audrey II, but it honestly blew me away! So well put together and voiced by Kenneth O’Regan, who captured its sass and progressively more evil side as it demanded to “Feed Me.” It was captivating and impressive.

Overall, my early morning flight to Dublin was well worth it, and it’s always a joy to walk into the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. I really hope this is just the start of their in-house productions and can’t wait to see what they have for us next.
