Written by Meade Conway, How to Kill Your Landlord follows three polar-opposite flatmates united by their shared disdain for their evil landlord.

From the moment you see the set, it’s clear these tenants aren’t living in luxury — the flat is falling apart, and multiple requests to fix it have gone ignored (something many can relate to, I’m sure).

Joq (Elijah Khan) is a ‘crypto hustler’ trying to keep the place together and make his late grandmother proud. Harriet (Frankie Weatherby) is a yoga instructor who runs online classes for the ‘yummy mummy’ crowd. Burke (Robbie Fletcher-Hill) is a ‘wannabe revolutionary’, doing what he can to get by.

Landlord Archie (John Gregor) unexpectedly shows up and announces he’s renovating (great!), but they can’t live there anymore (not so great!). Horrified by the prospect of starting over, the trio have one week to stop him. What starts as a desperate plan quickly spirals into chaotic, laugh-out-loud madness.

The writing is sharp and funny, giving each character clear motives that make their actions feel understandable — even if they’re completely over the top. The cast is fantastic, fully bringing to life their distinct personalities and dynamics, with Burke delivering many of the comedic highlights.

The 60 minutes absolutely flew by — clever, funny, relatable and full of chaos. This play is executed brilliantly and had me hooked from start to finish.
